The Robustus 6 gets it´s name from the 6 malts they use for the beer. Als the beer got the gold medal at the Meininger Craft Beer Award 2016

Color: just black J

Nose: coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, smoky
First Sip: wonderful bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, a little coffee it´s stronger in the nose as on the first sip, you also could say it´s fresh while it has not much carbonic acid.
Mouth: fresh but smooth nearly creamy, malt and chocolate dominate but it´s all well integrated let´s say nice and round. Still very pleasant fresh.
At the End: Malt stay´s as the lion´s share. A very little sourness I have very decent on the side of my tongue. A little smoky in the first moment. Very hard to taste any hop at all. Still some freshness.

Conclusion: A very nice round Porter. It has all you want from a Porter – chocolate, Malt, Coffee, a little smoky and a tiny touch of fruit. A very nice balanced beer. Not boring but yummy. With it´s 5% alc. You could easy drink a second or third bottle. J This is the second beer from the Riedle brewery I tasted and both beers are great.

This beer and a cigar? Oh yes and I would say even the mild ones from about the half work well with the beer. The Villiger “La Meridiana” definitely.

3 Tester  - but i have to say it, 2 of them like and smoke more mild cigars

It is a Nicaragua Puro with a Habana Seed Wrapper.

Nice workmanship and a nice aroma of cedar, a little chocolate and coffee. Perfect puff.

1.Third: the cigar starts nice and discreet. Fine touch of chocolate, café au llait and cedar. Nearly sweet and creamy, maybe a little nut. But you taste it´s a medium to strong cigar. Perfect burnup with a nice light grey ash.

2.Third: still perfect burnup, now the tasting opinions go a little apart. One says it´s going to be a lot stronger/spicier but he also tasted a little caramel and 2 say yes a little more stronger/spicier. The chocolate touch is still there. A little earth and pepper. Let´s say the cigar changes from medium to a little more than medium.

3.Third: Burnup still perfect. Now the cigar is just under strong. But it´s still a wonderful spicy cigar. Villiger themselves say the cigar is 4/5 on the strong side. That is true. Still nice aroma of earth, wood and chocolate but more like a chili chocolate and that is a nice touch. A little leather I can taste.

Conclusion: Overall we give the cigar 89,5 points. Yes it is a cigar from Nicaragua and she is powerful and spicy. We all liked the cigar. As I told the price the first reaction was “wow that’s what I call a great price-performance ratio” we agreed on that one. The cigar has all the way a nice taste of chocolate (but I would say not as strong as on some of my chocolate bomb cigar as I call them) it´s there but not dominate. So if you like a full body cigar and call yourself a man then you have to try one, it´s worth it.

Villiger „La Meridiana“ Torpedo

Das Robustus 6 hat seinen Namen von der Anzahl der verwendeten Malzsorten. Dazu erhielt das Bier die Goldmedaille beim Meininger Craft Beer Award 2016.

Farbe: schönes Schwarz

Nase: Kaffee, dunkle Schokolade, Röstmalz, rauchig

Antrunk: schöne Bitterschokolade, Röstmalz, etwas Kaffee, in der Nase kräftiger wie der erste Schluck, fast schon als frisch zu bezeichnen obwohl nur sehr wenig Kohlensäure.

Gaumen: frisch aber schön weich fast cremig, Malz und Schokolade dominieren aber alles ist schön Rund und gut eingebunden. Macht Lust auf den nächsten Schluck.

Abgang: Malz bleibt weiterhin der schöne Hauptanteil. Eine leichte Säure kommt hinzu die aber eher dezent im Hintergrund ist. Schön rauchig im ersten Moment des Abgangs.  Der Hopfen ist so gut wie nicht war zu nehmen. Es bleibt eine angenehme Frische.

Fazit: Ein schönes Rundes Porter. Es ist alles da was man sich erwartet. Schokolade, Malz, Kaffee, etwas Rauch und ein Hauch von Frucht. Sehr leckeres ausgeglichenes Bier. Nicht langweilig sondern lecker. Kann man bei 5% auch ein paar mehr trinken J Dies ist mein zweites von zwei getesteten Riegele Bieren die ich wirklich empfehlen kann.

Dieses Bier mit einer Zigarre? JA auf alle und zwar würde ich hier sogar eine milde ab der Hälfte als passend bezeichnen. Zur Villiger „La Meridiana“ aber perfekt.

3 Tester dazu sei gesagt das 2 Tester eher die milden Zigarren rauchen.

Die Zigarre ist eine Nicaragua Puro wobei das Deckblatt Habano Seed ist

Schöne Verarbeitung mit einem schönen Aroma nach Zeder und ein wenig Schokolade und Kaffee.

Der Kaltzug war perfekt.

1.Drittel: die Zigarre startet angenehm und nicht aufdringlich. Feine Noten von Schokolade, Milchkaffee und Zeder. Fast schon süßlich cremig, etwas Nuss vielleicht. Man merkt aber schon das es sich um eine mittel bis kräftige Zigarre handelt. Perfekter Abbrand im ersten Drittel mit einer schönen hellen Asche.

2.Drittel: Weiterhin kein Schiefbrand, jetzt Teilen sich etwas die Meinung im Hinblick auf die Stärke und Würze der Zigarre. Einmal wurde sie als etwas schärfer/würziger bezeichnet wobei etwas Karamell erkannt wurde. Die Schokoladen Noten bleiben aber erhalten. Etwas Erde und Pfeffer kommen hinzu. Und ja sie nimmt etwas mehr fahrt auf und bewegt sich von mittelkräftig leicht weg zu mittel bis kräftig.

3.Drittel: Abbrand weiterhin perfekt.  Jetzt haben wir eine schöne würzige Zigarre. Villiger selber gibt 4 von 5 bei der Stärke. Da kann man nur zustimmen. Weiterhin sind die Aromen von  Erde, Holz, Schokolade präsent wobei man sagen kann das es in Richtung Chilischokolade geht sehr angenehm. Etwas Leder kommt hinzu.

Fazit: Insgesamt sind wir auf 89,5 Punkte gekommen. Ja es ist eine Zigarre aus Nicaragua und Sie ist kräftig/würzig. Die Zigarre halt uns allen sehr gefallen. Besonders begeistert war man nachdem der Preis genannt wurde. „Wow das nenne ich mal ein tolles Preisleistungsverhältnis“  war dann auch die einstimmige Meinung. Die Zigarre hat schöne Schokoladen Noten (aber sie sind nicht zu verwechseln mit Zigarren die ich persönlich als Schokobomben bezeichne) die Schokolade ist präsent aber nicht dominant. Also wer gerne etwas kräftigere Zigarren mag sollte die Villiger „La Meridiana“ auf alle Fälle einmal Testen.
